The City of West Branch, Iowa, is currently requesting proposals from qualified Contractors for snow removal and ice control services for residential nuisance snow
removal.

The City of West Branch is currently hiring for a full-time public works/streets maintenance employee and full-time police officer.  Employment details can be found in the jobs listings

The City of West Branch, Iowa, (population 2,498) seeks to hire a Chief of Police.  Candidates must have ILEA certification required upon application.  A minimum of seven (7) years of law enforcement experience required, with one (1) year of supervision preferred.  The selected candidate would be subject to a background investigation, psychological evaluation, and oral interview.

The Police Chief will also be an active-duty officer who patrols scheduled hours and is on call when needed.  The department currently has four (4) full time, one (1) inactive part-time, and one (1) reserve police officers.  We have four police vehicles and a department station shared with the Fire Department.  The West Branch Police Department works well with both Johnson County and Cedar Sheriff and County Attorney Offices; as well as state and federal agencies.

The selected candidate will be required to establish a residence within an eight-mile radius of West Branch within six months of their date of employment, and continue residency within the eight-mile radius of West Branch as a requirement for continued employment with the City.

The West Branch Police are reporting an increase in calls regarding malicious phone calls in West Branch. The current frequent call is regarding a block in your social security number if you can’t call back, sometimes claiming to be the IRS or Federal Marshal’s office.

West Branch Community Development Group, a Main Street Iowa organization, is currently seeking a part‐time Executive Director. This person will be responsible for planning, execution, and documentation of the Main Street policies and guidelines for historic preservation and economic development. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to; advocacy, committee oversight, fundraising, governance, meeting participation, program evaluation, public relations, and risk management. Downtown East Redevelopment Project – The City of West Branch is very interested in hearing from qualified developers (individuals or firms) interested in presenting a viable design and development concept for a mixed-use development on 3.450 acres of real estate located in Downtown West Branch, Iowa, owned by the City of West Branch.  The site has recently been used as concrete ready-mix plant.  Using existing grain elevators… the city is looking for a creative approach to development that accommodates entertainment venues such as a city market, hotel, housing, brewery and/or other significant mixed-used developments on the site (all ideas will get considerable review and investigation).  The following documents are intended to provided interested developers and investors with background information that could assist their research and value propitiation processes.
