Water & Sewer


Water and sewer service is provided by the City of West Branch. New or change of service can be scheduled by calling the City Offices at 643-5888.

A deposit is required for tenants at all rental properties.

Billing

Water meters are read the 20th of each month. Bills are mailed the 1st of each month and are due on the 20th of the month.   A 10% late fee will be added to all bills received after the due date.  Water service will be disconnected to all delinquent accounts and are subject to a reconnect fee.

Current rates are as follows:

Water – $9.74 per 1,000 gallons (with a minimum of 1,700 gallons) – Eff. 8/1/2023

Sewer – $17.65 per 1,000 gallons (with a minimum of 1,700 gallons) – Eff. 7/1/2023

Payment Options

Online:  Click on the Online Payment button on the Home page of the our website.  You can simply pay your bill or register your account and have access to your monthly bill, see payment history and consumption usage for your property.   With the online option you can also pay for pet registrations and dog park tags.  A $2.00 service fee added to your payment for using the online option.

EasyPay:  (the easiest way to pay your water bill!) By completing the EasyPay enrollment form and dropping it off at the City Office, EasyPay will deduct your monthly payment on the 20th of each month from your checking or savings account from the information provided on the form.  No more late fees and best of all “it’s free”!

Mail:  Checks should be mailed to:  City of West Branch, PO Box 218, West Branch, IA 52358

Paid in person or via drop box: Check or cash (exact change is preferred).  Our drop box is located at the north end of our building near the council Chambers entrance at 110 N Poplar St.  Office hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

Reporting a Problem

Water and sewer problems should be reported to Public Works Director at 319-325-8213.

Landscape Meters

Landscape meters are available in the City Office for loan from April through September each year and may be used for outside watering.  Meters track water usage and a credit for a portion of your sewer fees will be refunded when the meter is returned.
