The West Branch Police are reporting an increase in calls regarding malicious phone calls in West Branch. The current frequent call is regarding a block in your social security number if you can’t call back, sometimes claiming to be the IRS or Federal Marshal’s office.
The WBPD would like to remind everyone:

- Don’t take calls from someone you don’t know, even if the numbers appear to be local

- Do not respond to the phone numbers the provided in the phone calls

- Do not give out any personal information
