The City’s Code of Ordinance was re-codified as of January 2022 with the exception of below listed Ordinances. New Ordinances will will be displayed below as they are passed and then will be incorporated in the new code quarterly.
2025 Ordinances
Ordinance 833 – Providingthe General Property Taxes levied and collected on certain lots in the Meadows, Part 4A and Part 4B and Pedersen Valley, Part One, West Branch, Iowa, in the City of West Branch, County of Cedar, State of Iowa, by and for the benefit of the State of Iowa, City of West Branch, County of Cedar, West Branch Community School District, and other taxing districts, be paid to a Special Fund for payment of Principal and Interest on loans, monies advanced to and indebtedness, including Bonds issued or to be issued, incurred by said City in connection with said West Branch Urban Renewal Area.

Ordinance 825 – Repealing Ordinance No. 695 and granting to Interstate Power and Light Company, its successors and assigns, a non-exclusive twenty-five- year franchise to erect, construct, reconstruct, maintain, and operate plant and systems for the distribution of natural gas in the City of West Branch, Iowa and to sell, distribute, and supply natural gas to said city and its inhabitants, and requiring said company to pay a franchise fee to the city.
Ordinance 824 – Repealing Ordinance No. 533, and granting to Interstate Power and Light Company, its successors and assigns, a non-exclusive twenty-five-year franchise to acquire, construct, erect, maintain and operate an electric system in the City of West Branch, Iowa and to furnish and sell electric energy to the city and its inhabitants, and requiring said company to pay a franchise fee to the city.
Ordinance 823 – Granting to Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative, its successors and assigns, a non-exclusive twenty-five-year franchise to acquire, construct, erect, maintain and operate an electric system in the City of West Branch, Iowa, and to furnish and sell electric energy to the city and its inhabitants, and requiring said company to pay a franchise fee.
