The City of West Branch staff are categorized into seven categories, each of which provide different services to the citizens of West Branch and the surrounding area.
Administration
The Administration of the city is located at 110 N Poplar St. The administration staff is made up of the City Administrator, Finance Officer, and City Clerk. The Administration is the first point of contact for many city services like water and garbage services, reserving city facilities, and obtaining permits.
Public Works
The Public Works Department ensures the operation and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure. They maintain the upkeep of city buildings and grounds; provide road maintenance including snow removal, repair, and cleaning; and ensures the operation of sewer and water services.
Parks & Recreation
Parks & Recreation works to provide a wide variety of activities and spaces for the community of West Branch. The staff and commission encompass a wide range of volunteers who provide outdoor spaces with the parks and trails as well as many different sports and activities throughout the whole year.
Public Library
The West Branch Public Library provides a gathering place for the community while promoting learning, literacy, and access to information. The library has a collection of over 19,000 physical circulating items, free computer and internet access, and hundreds of programs every year for users of all ages.
Fire Department
The West Branch Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services for West Branch and the surrounding area. With over 135 years of service to the community, the department consists of 30+ volunteers.
Police Department
The police department of the City was established to provide for the preservation of peace and enforcement of law and ordinances within the corporate limits of the City of West Branch. The department consists of the Police Chief and other such law enforcement officers, whether full or part time.
