Public Works


The Public Works Department consists of five full-time employees and one part-time employee who is responsible for maintaining the City’s infrastructure and other maintenance needs.

Spring / Summer tasks:

  • Mowing and trimming of all city owned property, cemetery & parks
  • Street sweeping
  • City street line painting
  • Pot hole repairs
  • Fire hydrant flushing & painting
  • Residential curbside yard waste pick-up (seasonal)
  • City Park maintenance

Fall / Winter tasks:

  • Fall leaf collection
  • Christmas tree pick up
  • Snow removal on city streets and city property
  • Install and remove seasonal street decorations

Year round tasks:

  • Water testing & sewer monitoring
  • Monthly water meter reading
  • Maintenance of city buildings and property
  • Sidewalk inspections for repair & snow / ice removal
  • Replacement of street signs
  • Cemetery Care – clean-up April 1st-15th and October 1st-15th
  • Trash collection at parks and trails
  • Tree trimming & maintenance of city owned trees
