History

The original "Home Town Days" celebration began in the 1960's and again in the 1980's with a carnival and kid's activities.

In 2004, the West Branch Fire Department celebrated its 125th anniversary. To give back to the community, the department hosted a community-wide celebration with entertainment and food. The event was a huge success and the community response was overwhelming. The group immediately started plans for a second event in 2005.

In 2006, the fire department brought back the "Hometown Days" theme with a goal of making this an annual celebration for the West Branch community.

By 2007, the event had grown and the City of West Branch and Main Street West Branch were asked to join in as organizing sponsors.
